The VriendenLoterij is a Dutch lottery organisation that focuses on supporting charitable causes chosen by its participants. Established to create a positive impact, the VriendenLoterij allows players to select which good causes they want to support with their lottery tickets. This unique approach ensures that a wide range of initiatives, from cultural heritage to local sports clubs, receive funding.
In 2023, the VriendenLoterij generated a revenue of €341.6 million, and €143.4 million was donated to various good causes. Participants also benefit from the VIP Card, which offers discounts and free access to numerous cultural and recreational activities across the Netherlands.
The VriendenLoterij supports 60 long-term cultural partners and over 3,700 clubs and associations. Some of the notable cultural partners include the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Fries Museum, and the TextielMuseum. These partnerships help preserve and promote Dutch cultural heritage, arts, and education. Additionally, the VriendenLoterij provides significant support to local clubs and associations, enabling them to thrive and contribute to their communities.
